The lp4 continues to have problem printing letters in reverse video, 
demonstrated in the example of the attached pdf file.

The specific files causing this appears to be postscript files generated 
from tex. This is a problem, since majority of papers published in the 
physics archive

http://arxiv.org/list/hep-th/new

are in this format.

This has been a problem for some time, and I would like find some 
solution (I can handle pre-processing ps files if that is what is 
called, though there must be a better solution.)

Also, ps files generated from tex is the format of choice in writing papers.
