> Thanks, Matt, for taking a look at it. As far as I can tell, though, nothing has changed, and the fan is still working overtime. Hopefully, a fan replacement can get put somewhere on your guys' low-priority to-do list. Poor, overworked fan...
>
I'll come size it later today and order a replacement.

poking at Eurya, I saw the following:

1) The loud fan is the front intake fan
2) the rear exhaust fan was off

I was able to get the rear fan working (switch inline on the power
cable). I suspect the problem is the machine getting too warm and
trying to correct it with the front fan. I expect it to improve
once the exhaust fan can do its thing. If not, we'll need to
replace the front fan.

The computer at my desk (eurya) has been running its fan non-stop for at least a few days. The other new desktops in our office have been whisper quiet. Any ideas on what might be going on, or what I might do to stop it? I've tried shutting it down and rebooting, and I've also checked to see if there are any major processes going on, but I've come up with nothing.
